A superbly documented group to
Unteroffizier Eduard Bodenmuller
4th Company Panzer Regiment Brandenburg
GrossDeutschland

An excellent attributed 25 year panzer assault badge and a 36 page hand written diary are the highlights of this fine group.  Further included are the badges and insignia shown below, the Panzer tabs as worn by Bodenmuller are wonderful!
Much original paper accompanies the group to include the page from his soldbuch that details and verifies his awards.  His diary notes that he believes he was also awarded the German Cross however I have been unable to substantiate that.  His kennkarte is found in the group and provides his photo, a US Army document from the war's end verifies the service number found on the dogtag.  A letter dated 20 April 1944 (Hitler's Birthday) congratulates him on his award of the EKI (For destroying 8 (!) Russian T-34's and stopping a Russian attack in which he saved two German armored vehicles!).

Awards page, removed from his soldbuch.

Translation of letter from a friend, I would love to be able to decipher the name on the letter!

The original 1990 receipts from Bill Shea of "The Ruptured Duck" details the contents of the group,
some of it's history, and the asking price in 1990..
