Rare M1915 Bolo Bayonet
The Model 1915 bolo bayonet was designed to replace the M1909 but never went
into major production. There were apparently 6,000 produced and the
majority, some 5,000, were sent to the Philippines to be used by indigenous
troops there. Due to the jungle climate and the overall utility of this
bolo, very few exist today and Jim Maddox in an article for The Society of
the American Bayonet Collector's noted that the canvass and wood scabbards are
rarer than the bayonets themselves.
