WWI 91st Division Silver Star group
A fine group from a harder to find division and has his Silver Citation Star mounted on the Victory Medal ribbon bar and drape ribbon as well.  The original "Silver Star" was exactly that.  A silver star to be worn on the Victory medal or appropriate campaign medal based on the recipients gallantry citation.  This small and easily overlooked star is scarce when original as worn!
This group includes an officially engraved Bailey, Banks and Biddle Silver Star numbered 3755 and officially named to Thomas S. Powell, WW1 four bar Victory Medal with the Silver Citation Stars mounted as noted, 1918 St. Mihiel medal,  a great 1938 Los Angeles 91st Division 20th Reunion medal, and Powell's original named and numbered dogtag.
The research on Powell has been lost by the previous collector but there is info on the web nothing that Powell was cited in 91st Division General Order #25 1919 in the Meuse Argonne Campaign and served with the 316th Field Signals Battalion.
