Breech C. SHARPS PATENT SEPT. 12 1848, SHARPS PATENT OCT. 5 1852. and R.S. LAWRENCE PATENT APRIL 12 1859. Marked in front of rear sight SHARPS RIFLE MANUFACTURING Co HARTFORD CONN. Serial number 31383 (early issue). Saddle ring bar with ring on the left side. Rare type brass barrel band, patch box and buttplate.The stock lacks cartouches. Lawrence marks under the flip sight. Condition Very good. The carbine is a mixture of mottled brown and gray patinas with a couple of only minor pitting. The wood is good with minor to moderate pressure dents. Mechanically fine.
