Blunt & Syms Pepperbox .31 Cal. Percussion
Blunt and Syms, located in New York City, operated from 1837 to 1855. This is an attractively engraved double action percussion underhammer pistol in very good condition, Six chambers, engraved, revolving barrel having concave flutes with concealed under hammer. Clean undamaged smooth walnut grips. Front of barrel flat surface marked "25" (serial number) and "R-G". There are some very small areas of flash pitting and light scattered tool marks in spots as well as only very light pitting in all bores. Walnut grip panels show light wear.
