WW2 "GQ" Badge Saved by Parachute badge
"GQ" club badge, an English version of the Caterpillar Club pin, this
WW2 "GQ" badge was created by James Gregory & Raymond Quilter/ They
were the founders of the G.Q. Parachute Company in the UK. The badge
was issued to airmen who used their company's
parachute when they bailed out of an aircraft. The badge was issued
with a GQ Club Certificate. Refer to p.167 in Warren Carroll's book ‘Eagles Recalled: Air Force Wings of Canada, Great Britain, and the British Commonwealth 1913-1945’ The
certificate reads "Wheras by virtue of your \\successful accomplishment
of a descent from the upper airs of this planet by Parachute we have
thought fit to nominate and appoint you (Name) to be a member
of the GQ club. We do by these presents bestow upon you the dignity of
membership and hereby authorize you to have, hold and enjoy the
privelege of wearing its badge of two wings without challenge or
hindrance. Given under our hand this (Day &
