Identified Civil War Missouri Artillery Officers Insignia Civil War epaulettes and cap insignia of Junius Wilson MacMurray. Born in Missouri on May 1, 1843, he enlisted on 5/9/1861 as a 2nd Lieut. 1st Missouri Infantry. On 6/10/1861 he transferred into the Missouri 1st Light Artillery. On 7/21/1865 he was commissioned into the Missouri 2nd Light Artillery and mustered out 11/20/1865 having received Brevet promotions to Major and then Lt. Col. of Volunteers. He entered Regular Army service as a Captain in February 1866 and rose to Major, March 8th, 1898. Major MacMurray died 5/14/1898. Included are his excellent condition matched officer's 1st Artillery epaulettes with eagle A artillery buttons and his 1st Artillery officer's slouch hat or kepi badge.
