Corregidor 60th Coast Artillery PoW Silver Star pair
1st Sgt. Fooshee was a Regular Army NCO who served with Battery H. 60th Coast Artillery in the Philippines.
The Captain and Battery commander wrote this of Sgt. Fooshee in a staff report.
"The 1st Sgt was competent and entirely satisfactory during the entire campaign. He is at present some 15 months past retirement, and is deserving of promotion to highest grade possible at time of discharge."
Sgt. Fooshee was wounded on April 28, 1942 and earned the Silver Star 2 days before Corregidor fell.  Captured in the fall of the Philippines, he was liberated in February 1945 from Bilibid Prison in the Philippines. The good Sgt. was 58 years old and most likely a WWI veteran. He died in 1969.
