Posthumous Purple Heart to Navy Corpsman & Silver Star recipient on Iwo Jima
Pharmacist's Mate 3rd Class Arch M. Laney, Jr. USN lost his life on March 2nd 1945 serving on the island of Iwo Jima with 1st Bn., 21st Marines Regt., 3rd MarDiv.  Phm Laney died rendering aid in spite of intense mortar and machine gun fire.  His actions earned him the Silver Star for gallantry in action. 
His officially named (type I, split broach, sterling base) Purple Heart is in excellnt overall condition.  $SOLD
