Officer's Sampson & Navy Cross Campaign Group An impressive three war Naval Academy graduates bar mounted group to three war veteran Captain Harold E. Cook. Cook served aboard the USS Newark in the Spanish American War and in WWI aboard the USS Wyoming and the USS Vermont before taking command of the USS Huron. He earned his Navy Cross for the dangerous crossings of the Atlantic commanding the Huron. Remaining in service he earned the Legion of Merit with Combat V in WWII. HIs medals include his bar mounted 3 piece Navy Cross, USS NEWARK Sampson Medal rim impressed NAVAL CADET HAROLD EARL COOK USN Spanish Campaign #456 , USN Cuban Pacification #1970 and WWI Victory with TRANSPORT clasp and a mounted matching miniature group. Seperatly are his Naval & Military Order of the Spanish American War as shown worn in photo's, an unnamed retirement award Legion of Merit with Combat V and lastly a table medal from Chili.
