Vietnam War posthumous Soldiers Medal gorup
This posthumously awarded group displays the courage and devotion of Spc.4 Derrill L. Price, Jr. of the 16th Infantry, 1st Division.
Spc.4 Price earned the Soldier's Medal for Non-Combat Valor when he aided a comrade who had set himself afire with an accidently discharged flare in a boat full of munitions and fuel.  He earned his Bronze Star with V for Valor in a combat action that certainly speaks volumes of his courage and in a citation that could easily have been written for a Silver Star.  His Army Commendation is the award of a devoted soldier and his Purple Heart for the ultimate sacrifice.
