USS St. Louis Officer's Sampson
Excellent condition phase two rim engraved award to H.C. Abell 3rd. Eng. Only 27 officers aboard. The St. Louis and her sister ship the USS St. Paul were ocean liners converted to cruisers and saw extensive wartime service. Interestingly, many of the crewman had been on the ship as civilian sailors and volunteer for service in the U.S. Navy.
