Posthumous Korean War Marine's group
John Lloyd Madvig was born in 1930 in Minnesota and with parent permission joined the Marine Corps at the close of WWII as a minor.  He went to Korea serving with the 1st Marine Division, 7th Marine Regiment, 2nd Battalion in a Mortar Platoon.  Corporal Madvig was killed in action in Korea on November 3rd, 1950. The 7th Regiment was heavily engaged in combat with North Korean and the Chinese troops who had just entered the war.  The rest of Cpl. Madvig’s regiment would soon be involved in the battle for the Chosin Reservoir.
Cpl. Madvig's officially engraved Purple Heart in the short titled USN/USMC case with Gold Star pin is accompanied by original photo's and documents to include the telemgram informing of his loss, Korean medal certificate as issued in the early stages of the war, and letters of condolence.
A fine tribute to a Marine in what truly is 'the forgotten war'.
