Normandy invasion 29th Division posthumous document group
Historical and poignant archive of PFC Joe W. Pullen who was Killed in Action on June 6th, 1944 serving with the 116th Infantry Regiment of the 29th Infantry Division.
Included with this group are
- original Purple Heart Certificate (soiled with fold at bottom below the text, no tears or damage) indicating his death on June 6, 1944.
- Britains Homage to American War Dead book in excellent condition, named to PFC J.W. Pullen.
- 1943 letter from PFC Pullen to his wife.
- Three V-Mail letters from England, one with the envelope.
- Hand written letter from his father to PFC Pullen in Basic Training.
- 1947 dated letter to his Mother from US Army forwarding pamphlet on American Cemetaries in Europe, pamphlet included.
- Lastly, a 1943 dated rifle shell casing of unknown importance.
A fine and historical group in a day when Normandy material is impossible to find.
